Sorry for the newbie question, but this is my first cart. Will the speed magnet essentially accomplish the same as having my CC dealer install a speed code 4? Only thing I am trying to accomplish is to take it from a 13-14mph (2004 CC DS 48volt) cart to a 18-20mph as cheap as I can.

Thanks,
Jr

If You have a Sepex Controller, Club Car Precedent or DS IQ, the main difference between a Speed Magnet (4-pole magnet) and the Dealer Speed code 4 is the reduction of Regen brake.

The speed magnet will eliminate a lot of the Regenerative brake that happens when you lift the foot of the pedal.

The speed magnet has the possibility to allow the cart to go faster than 19mph as long as the cart electronics and battery can go faster.

There are two different models of magnets depending if You have a GE or ADC motor, the links below will help you determine what you have, just click on both and look at the descriptions:

GE Motor: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...otor-iq-system

ADC Motor: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...otor-iq-system

A cart is something you push or pull. A car is something you drive. Don't believe it? Work in the industry for a few years and get ragged on and ridiculed for saying golf "carts" until you're forced to change your terminology. Don't ask me how I know...

After all, it's Club Car, not Club Cart....

I tell everybody that's my electric car. It not as pretty as a Tesla but it sure gets more attention.

Thanks for all of the advice. I ended up ordering a speed magnet from Revolution Golf Cars. Should be here tomorrow so I'm looking forward to seeing what a difference it makes.
