That is good to know and now I may change my mind. I just had a fear that it would void the whole thing but your explanation makes perfect sense.

No - still have original (it's a 2000 year model) rear drum brakes. Stops fine, but I guess it depends on your driving also. Seems to me the 4 wheel disc brakes on those Icon carts is a maintenance complexity without much or any need. That said, I've never driven one either but never felt braking was an issue on any cart. Rxvs have a weird feel to them if you stand on it though, and I'm told you can lock those up about 8 or 10 times then you need to replace the electro brake unit, but I can't imagine too many people driving them like that.
