High torque motor with high speed gears
Anyone have this combo, and what kind of performance does it deliver?

Re: High torque motor with high speed gears
Nobody has ever tried the combination of high speed gears on a high torque motor?

Re: High torque motor with high speed gears
I wondered. My cart is stretched and bagged on 14's. I'm stuck at 15 mph and I'd like to improve, but I don't want to lose bottom end.

Re: High torque motor with high speed gears
I set my precedent up with a redhawk a2 from scotty. Its described as a speed motor. I was able to get to 23mph and the torque was greatly improved over the OEM motor. Currently Im still using this motor with an alltrax 40048 controller and was able to get to 29mph before the lithium conversion. This was on 14in low pros with a tape measure they were just over 19in tall. With the a2 after the lithium install I was able to stand the cart straight up into a wheelie. It has a boat load of torque and is still plenty fast.
Under full acceleration I've only been able to see a max amp draw of 280amps. This is with 27in tires at 40mph. Assuming you have a controller cart: if your stock controller is 250-300amp you would see nearly the same torque output I am. Re: High torque motor with high speed gears
While it isn't a "torque" motor, I put a Plum Quick Rattlesnake II in a 92 club with a FSIP 500 amp controller. I am getting a solid 30 MPH and it wants to pull the front end off the ground with still having FLA batteries. That's on 12's and 22's. Plum Quick said with that setup on smaller tires, I would have quite a bit more torque and lose very little top end.

Re: High torque motor with high speed gears
Anyone here using an Plum Quick Executioner with a 500 amp alltrax? What's the performance / speed like?
