Default DS with 8-6v batteries

Am I the only person who reconfigured the DS golf cart to hold 8-6v batteries instead of 4-12v or 6-8v? I did this and the range was incredible. I also put in a high torque motor and 500a controller. I was able to go 25mph for hours with 2 adults. I could also climb anything. If anyone is considering a project, this is certainly worthwhile.
