Default charging batteries using a 12 v charger

I have my batteries out of the cart. I want to charge them all up using a 12v charger. These are 6 v so I know I need to hook two together and charge them two at a time. I know I hook positive to negative on one battery. Do I complete the circuit by putting the charger on each battery on the post not using the cables? or do I put neg to pos on each post of both batteries and if I do it that way, how do I hook the charger?

Heres how, using the "automotive charger" 12v setting. You could do all 6 at the same time, but thats a more confusing drawing. LOL, looks like a 1st grader drew it
