Default Re-clock or rotate rear axle???

The Navitas 5kW motor is significantly longer and larger in diameter than the stock CC motor. In it's normal position it interferes with the pas. side shock.

Since I'm going to build a custom 4 link rear suspension I'd like to rotate the axle/differential/motor a few degrees. If I rotate the motor forward just a bit...maybe 25 deg. I'll have room for the new coilover shocks to fit in.

I will have to deal with a little bit of a strange angle at the brake cables...but if I flip them over to the top of the axle it should be fine. If tat gets to strange I can re-mount the backing plate to bring the brakes to normal orientation.

Can anyone think of any other reasons that rotating the axle forward a little will be a problem? Anyone else done this?

The only thing is it might affect the gear lube. If there are splashers, I don’t know.

Get an axle from an 08+ Club Car Precedent. They moved the gear housing over to the left side a few inches to fit a longer motor can.

You don't need the brake retaining brackets. You just need to adjust the tension when reconnecting them back to the drum actuators.

Do you mean the little cable hangers or the actual bracket the cable end mounts into...with the little e-clip??

The bracket with the e-clip isn't needed.

I'm having a hard time visualizing how that will work but I'll take your word for it. I'll definitely investigate. If I don't need those brackets it'll make things easier!

I've been running mine for a year and a half without issue like this. I have zero issues stopping from 30mph and little to no brake drag from adjusting the cable tension. I can roll my cart with one hand over cement when in neutral. Here's the best pic I could find showing the driver's side brake cable.
