no it won't you have to have the batteries over a certian voltage for the charger to kick in, I disconnected the batteries and charged them up individually and then the charger would work, I believe on the 48 v carts once the batteries go below 38v {not 100% sure on that number} the charger won't work.

Factory chargers will kick on anytime you hook up at least for a short period even when pack is fully charged 50.96.
DIVERSG is correct below about 38 volts ( varies on different OBC's ) OBC wont allow charge to kick on.
If you have digital volt meter check battery pack for total voltage.

Read the stickies in this forum about battery care. Put it on charge when you are done with it long enough to allow for a full charge after plugging it in. You don't want to get in a habit of riding it a while, plug it in for a couple hours, unplug it before it's finished to ride it again.

I thought it was alright to plug the cart in anytime it was parked as the obc would regulate how much of a charge the cart needed. Have I been doing this wrong all this time?

My dealer that installed my new batteries told that when its parked plug it in.

That is correct. What SaltLife is saying is when you are done driving it, plug the charger in and let it run it's course. Don't just plug it in for a few hours then unplug it and use the cart. It is VERY important to let the charger run it course and shut itself off..
