Angry Precedent backfire, throttle linkage, governer

Hi Guys,
Can you help me with my 08 precedent? The previous owner adjusted the linkage under the floorpan by the gas pedal and it is hitting the rev limiter and back firing often, even when not hitting the rev limiter. I adjsuted it today and could not get it to stop hitting the rev limiter, it just kept getting slower off the line. Is there another adjustment and is this the governer under the floor pan or is that seperate? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Torey Eads

On mine it sounds like a heavy sneeze about every 10 seconds or so but the hill is probably a quarter mile long. If I keep my foot in the throttle a quarter or so it doesnt seem to do it hardly at all.

Torey sent me a PM before I read his/this thread, and I don't save my PM's

But, if I remember correctly, it was about readjusting his throttle lingage, and disabling the Rev Limiter,
All of the info is in the sticky at the top of the CC gas main page!

Or, you can adjust your govenor to a slightly lower RPM...
Don't let it continually hit the rev limiter, engine damage will result!
