Default Using a voltage reducer to charge added 12v accessory battery.?.?.?

So I'm having a stereo system added to my cart. The audio shop was originally going to wire everything to my 30amp Madjax reducer. We added a few more components at the last minute and he recommended adding an accessory battery. So he is currently doing the install.

He is now going to use the reducer to charge the accessory battery off of the main battery system. My question is has anyone used a reducer in this way and does anyone see any issue with doing so? We walked through the install a few times and it makes sense in my head. I was wanting to keep from having to use an additional charger.

P.S. GO ROYALS!!!!
