Robin engine timing belt question
I believe I've seen that our engines have timing belts (not chains or gears) right?
If so, how often do these need to be changed? I assume it's a non-interference engine, seeing that I don't find any posts of people tearing their engines up with failed timing belts. But being that it is a belt I fi8its gotta be changed every now and then. |

Re: Robin engine timing belt question
These belts will run forever with no problems. There is a black plastic cap on the timing cover you can pop off and try to see in there. It actually has a bolt you can loosen and the tensioner is spring loaded but have never done this in the cart.
Check the service manual for proper tensioning procedure. Are you having any issues or just trying to be proactive? |

Re: Robin engine timing belt question
I just have experience with timing belts on cars giving out causing engines needing to be rebuilt, so I got curious
