Ezgo series cart running issues
Alright guys, been a long time since I’ve had a question on here but for now I’m stumped. Have a 97 model ezgo series cart. Has a AXE4834 R4 controller with 6 brand new 6-volt batteries. Has given no codes on controller but we drag race and we will go from the trailer about 200 ft and it will cut off. So leave it come back and it will run again back to the trailer. Volt meter shows 38volts but it continues to do this over and over again. So we are just sitting at the pits and walking 😂. Any ideas on what to look for or what issue might be? We have made sure to tighten everything up. You can hear the click of the solenoid when it’s not running and it doesn’t move. But wait 10 mins or so and it will go again just to do it again. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Ezgo series cart running issues
So am I thinking maybe correctly after doing some more searching that it might be my controller having connection issues inside that can’t be fixed? It happened 3 times at the track Saturday but sooner or later I was able to drive it around and even drove it around the bumpy areas and grassy muddy areas and it kept running. So I’m completely lost lol

Re: Ezgo series cart running issues
Motor brushes, solenoid contacts, F/R contacts, or throttle issues come to mind.
Connect a voltmeter between the controller's B- and M- terminals. There may be a voltage a few volts less than battery pack voltage if the solenoid's large terminals has a resistor connected between them, however when pedal is pushed just far enough to make solenoid click, you should get a voltage equal to the battery pack voltage and when pedal is pushed to floor the voltage ought to decrease to zero volts. |
