Radio Hook Up
So looking through the wiring diagrams and scratching my head.
When hooking up a stereo, there's normally three wires for power correct? One to the battery (for the clock), one to the ignition (key), and one to the ground. So, I can figure out the one to the battery, and one to the ground part (could also go direct to the battery I guess), but where should the third hook up? Somewhere at the key? Please note that this isn't life or death really, as not having a clock is not the end of the world. However, I scored a JVC CD Player at a garage sale for $5 this weekend, and have now already built my canopy stereo box! If I can track down a harness in the next few days, I'll be rocking and rollin' at the golf course on Wednesday. |

Re: Radio Hook Up
yes, should go to ignition switch on position, which is 12v +.not the start position.
the wire to battery is for clock and also holds memory in your radio for your favorite fm/am stations. |

Re: Radio Hook Up
That would be the constant wire. I'm pretty sure that is a light blue wire...

Re: Radio Hook Up
Quote:
Red = Keyed Power (Switched 12v Pos.) Yellow = Memory (Batt 12v Pos.) Black = Ground (Batt 12v Neg.) Blue = Amp Turn On Lead / Power Ant. Like was stated earlier, just hook it to the key on wire or if you're concerned with it burning up the switch you could use a relay. Connect the Ground Wire to the Battery on the cart. Hope this helps, -Scott H. |

Re: Radio Hook Up
Well, built a box, painted it, got the speakers and head unit mounted, and now I get to wait a few weeks for my wiring harness to arrive from Hong Kong.
Gah! Thanks for the advice boys. I do have a guide on the deck itself which tells me which wire is which - I just need to ensure that if I want to save the time and the radio stations that I run the third wire. |
