1987 club car wont go
Alright guys and girls, Here's the deal. Paw in law parked his cart one night and a few days later went to go for a ride and nothing happend. I have put a new micro switch on the foward reverse switch. Tapped on the other one ane it fell apart. With the key on and in foward or reverse i can push the pedel and the solinoids make noise but wheels do not turn. Where do i go from here.Help please I already have enough projects in my shop now. Thanks Steve

solenoid closest to the driver's side is the master .... it must click 1st! replace it

Re: 1987 club car wont go
Scotty They would all click when I pushed the pedel down. I put a stick on each one of them and pushed the pedel. Thanks.

Re: 1987 club car wont go
He is talking about the master solenoid and it makes all the others work.As Scotty said it is the first one on the drivers side,it might just be weak.

Ok . That sounds great. I will go pick up a new one. Is there a way to test it before I go get one. Thanks Steve

Re: 1987 club car wont go
Sure apply voltage across small control connections, solenoid should close (heavy clicking noise) and should measure 0 Ohms across the big lugs after click.
PS: Infinite ohms before the solenoid closes ! |

Re: 1987 club car wont go
this exact same thing happened to me i also have a 1987 club car and i parked mine in the garage and the next day it wouldnt go, but when i turned the key my headlights would still come on. and i replaced my solenoid and it still wont go, but when i touch both of the two big bolts on the top of the solenoid with a screw driver the cart will turn over but not when i push the pedal.
