Re: 1999 club car ds 1204 vs 1204m controller
The "M" models are programmable, so the function of J5 depends on how it is programmed:
Rev Input / Main Driver parameter = 2 J5 is used for the low side of the main solenoid coil. Rev Input / Main Driver parameter = 1 J5 is used to provide 1/2 speed when +48v is applied to the terminal. Neither setting would affect the ability of the cart to run in reverse. Check your wiring again, either a FNR micro-switch or the FNR big cables are on the wrong place. |

Re: 1999 club car ds 1204 vs 1204m controller
Correct, the cart should go forward and reverse without anything connected to J5.
You need to check your FNR switch against the wiring diagram. Make sure the big cables on the FNR swivel posts go to S1 and S2 motor terminals (visually follow the cables to the motor connections). If those are correct, by-pass the half-speed resistor by disconnecting the 3 wires from micro-switch #3 and connecting the green and white wires together (tape the black wire as it will not be used). |

Tying green and white wires together did it. Thank you so much for your help!
