To try to fab all the body and bumper parts to another frame (only in my opinion) would be a nightmare. There are transaxles you can make fit, I used a early Yamaha and short axle tube assy's to fit. If there is need, it can be done.....you just have to decide witch derection you want to go. Don't stop building!
I agree, SB. Those carts look very cool, and aside from wheels and tires, my goal is an authentic visual presence, but I definitely wish to go faster than 8MPH.

The bigger issue is that I'll be separated from the cart for several weeks at a time, and battery maintenance will be an issue. Before learning more about Sparky's (since I bought our TR), I was unaware of the proper maintenance efforts. Now, without question, I will transition to a gas system.

But you have made me wonder whether it will be better to retrofit a gas engine within the TR chassis, than to place the body parts over a gas Club Car chassis with the same wheelbase. Hmmm

Latest body work photos. The Turf Rider and the Harley Davidson Topper Scooter components are getting near the stage where they'll be painted.

I have no motor, etc..... should I put the body on a running Yerfdog go cart..... it has full suspension.... or should I restore a vintage Harley golf cart motor and fab up everything?

Thanks for any input.

Hi REP! I am doing the same project with a TR that has been in my family for 35 years! I could use your help, if you are willing to? I lost my photos of the wiring of the solenoids. Do you have any more photos of yours prior to tear down? If you are also willing, the measurements of the golf club stand/holder on the back? I would love to fab up a new one of those!

If you are looking for a motor, I am converting mine to gas with a fnr transmission/ gear box. Don't know when it will be available but definitely by next winter.

Hi Drew: I took lots of photos before I covered and stored it for the winter. Send me an IM with your email address and we can exchange photos.

The bodywork is complete. This will be the coolest cart in my neighborhood.

Projecting a completion date of Memorial Day, 2016.
