Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
Hey Guys. I'm new here and I recently bought a 2007 precedent with 2010 batteries. When I bought it, it already had a light kit and rear seat. As soon as I bought it, I installed a 6 inch spindle lift. I only rode the cart for a few seconds at the guys house when I bought it and it seemed to be fine. Now, if I give it full throttle in the forward it completely cuts out. It does the same thing in reverse if I give it more than about half throttle. I have to turn the key off and flip the switch to tow and let it sit a few minutes and then its all back to normal. When its in reverse and does this, the back up beeper stops beeping which is why I am assuming its losing all power. My buddy had an extra MCOR so I installed it but it seems to do the exact same thing. Any ideas? If anybody has ever had this problem or can help in any way, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, Derek |

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
I have one doing about the same thing. It will go about 10 or 15 feet and stop. After doing some searching, I think I found a thread that suggest the speed sensor could be causing problem. I started my own thread, just waiting for a more knowledgeable person to come along.

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
I swapped out the speed sensor with a known good one from my buddy's precedent. It didn't fix it either. I checked all the batteries and each had right at 12 volts and 48 volts when checking them all together. Should I check voltage to see if its getting to the motor now? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
I hear a click when pressing the pedal but no battery light comes on and back up buzzer doesn't work in reverse. How can I check the solenoid or obc? What should be my next steps?

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
Did you check your batteries under a load? Or just put a volt meter across each one?

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
just putting the meter across them. how do i check under load? just jack rear of cart up and push pedal down and check them? if so, the problem is a lot of times it cuts out under load so i might have some trouble doing that.

I personally have a discharge machine but when I didn't have one I would hold one foot on the brake and mash the gas while I had my meter on each battery

Re: Precedent Seems to Lose All Power
oh ok. i checked them a frew hours ago. the cart wasnt fully charged, but i jacked it up so the wheels could spin freely. it never cut out on me in forward or reverse at any throttle position. most of the time its messed up on me its been going up a hill or having some type of load on it. when checking the batteries individually with it lifted in the air and the throttle held all the way down, all batteries dropped to around 11 volts each and when measuring across all of them they were a little over 44 volts. does this sound low or average? it is charging right now so tomorrow i will ride it and see if i even have the problem with it fully charged, or just when it starts getting low on charge.
