Re: V- Glide to Pot box
Yes, you will need a compatible controller and some other items. Search " resistor to controller " in this forum. There are several posts on doing this!

Re: V- Glide to Pot box
No. You would have to change out the whole drive control system. You can not use a part of the controller system with the resistor system (of speed control) and visa versa.
The potentiometer is the peddle position indicator and throttle signal input device (ohms) for electronic speed control. The V-glide is a terminal selector type wiper switch which routes high amperage current through one resistor or another. I hope this helps. |

Re: V- Glide to Pot box
The pot output must match the control input. the control output must match the motor demands = the work load .... you are going about this the long way
It can be done but remember controller damage is accumulative, beware of buying somebody else's problems. Typically, stock controllers are not big enough for off road use. Ezgo used pot compatible controllers from 1989-94 in the 350 amp range..... smaller than the typical recommended 400 amp aftermarket control. |

Re: V- Glide to Pot box
that is exactly what i needed to know. well i plan to run a four seater around town. but in the distant future i would like to lift the cart. not any off road really but i would like speed. 15+ I just don't care for paying $400 for a controller. but a stock ezgo will get me by for a while right?
im still better off than keeping the good ole fashioned resistor set up? I pushed my resistor carts in the past pretty hard. |
