Default 96 36v txt need help wiring

I bought a total upgrade kit. I followed their instructions and now I'm getting to the part of the solenoid. I took a picture of it before I took it apart. but I guess I didn't do a very good job of keeping track of the wires. I know to combined the two red wires and 2 black wires together to put on the tabs. my question is on the new switch I don't have a ground so can I ground it to the frame? second where does the 2 red wires that you combined on the solenoid come from? I seem to not find them. I also had to cut the plug off and wire it into the controller. that is the only red wire I can seem to find. please help.. thanks for you time

Don’t ground to the frame. All grounding on an electric cart should go to the B-. Don’t talk about “BU” on this forum... [emoji52]

I was actually joking. Many people, including myself, have had bad experiences with them.

Is this an Alltrax Controller you are installing?

1st. I don’t think carts have a negative frame like cars do. You have to wire a negative to the accessories.

2nd. You need to make two cable. Like the instructions say, 8-10 inches long with a ring on one side and a spade end on the other. The harness cables you cut had a short red wire that went from the connector to the solenoid. That is the wire you are making. The other wire you make is the same length that went from the negative post on the controller to the solenoid.

Alltrax have a negative post in group of posts so you don’t have to wire it to the main negative post anymore

These are ScottyBs install that I followed.

Hey Measter, did you get this sorted? I’m not an expert, but I just rebuilt a ‘95 medalist this week. Fairly familiar with the wiring, but I don’t quite follow exactly what wires are in question. I have the wiring diagrams on my computer and will check them n the morning if you can clarify.

Off of the positive side the two red wires I need to know where they go so I can run new ones or merge them.
