Default 2003 PDS 36 Volt Stops Running

Guys, I have a 03 36 volt PDS with new batteries and it has a lift kit and big all terrain tires. It keeps slowing down and stopping after I run for a little bit, then I can let it sit and it will start-up again and run OK for a while again. Seems to be getting shorter spans of run time. I have looked at the controller and I have, I assume, a stock controller (Curtis 73326G02).

Is my controller going out? And if so, do I need to upgrade to a higher (400 amp) controller and if so what type would be recommended?

Also, where can you find used or rebuilt controllers that would work for my cart?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it sounds like your controller might be going into "overload" and is shutting down on you.

I'd get a Alltrax DCX400 controller. For a non-new one contact Carl at EV DRIVES and he'll hook you up with a controller and HD solenoid.

go with the above controller so if you want to upgrade the cart (lift, tires, motor) the controller will handle it.

Whats the difference between a Alltrax 400 Amp and a Curtiss 400 amp?

The Alltrax is the "Cadillac" of controllers and is what seems to give the least trouble.
