Default Shop Ventilation

How do you guys get fresh air in the shop during winter when the doors are closed, heats going, and your doing a lot of welding or grinding?

Build a down draft welding/grinding/painting table or I use a Miller fume extractor. Either way you're filtering the air within the shop rather than drawing in fresh, cold air that causes the furnace to run constantly.

Open the door when it starts to get to bad, 2/3 minutes and start over. But I have small shop and it heats up quick. Is the smoke hog an electrostatic device?

Lincoln has a small HEPA unit called a Mini Flex. It is about the size of a shop vac and is extremely effective. The company I work for has about 60 of these units in use and are fully self contained and is run on 115 volts and does not interfer with cover gas. Cost is around $1300. I have seen shop vac used at the source with good results as well but not as effective unless you use a HEPA filter.
