Re: Gas Yamaha high RPM/NO SPEED?????
Welcome to BGW!!
Make sure the clutches are opening and closing all the way. The last time a broke a belt, strands of it wrapped around the clutches and they didn't work properly. |

Re: Gas Yamaha high RPM/NO SPEED?????
Question, I can move my primary clutch in and out very easily by hand "without belt in place" is this normal? also i did clean all pieces of broken belt and no change

Re: Gas Yamaha high RPM/NO SPEED?????
Yes it will move freely by hand. I would double check for belt trash around the driven or back clutch. Check closely on the inside toward the transaxle, there is a spring inside the cam area that could be holding threads and jambed up.
Also hit the two clutches with 2 or 3 shots of grease in the fittings. |

Re: Gas Yamaha high RPM/NO SPEED?????
Please guy's, don't over grease the primary clutch! Take the belt off, take the cap off, 1 shot of grease and wipe out any extra. You don't want grease on the weights and pins, you'll be rebuilding it when one of the weights comes apart and you won't like the price! Can you show us a picture of the secondary clutch (from several angles)? It could help.

yes i will try to take some pictures and post them asap.
Tinkered with it a little last night and noticed the belt isnt pulling down into secondary clutch like i think it should and also the belt and clutch sheaves get extremely hot after running short distance |
