05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
I have an 05 48v Precedent. It was stripped down to the underbody and put back together with a new body and seats. New batteries were installed and a new charger was bought. Cart ran perfect until Friday, when the new body went on and now it will not move at all. Jumped the F/R switch with no change, solenoid clicks every time, with a secondary click after release of the pedal. controller is reading volts at rear and center wire, and ground reads volts on the 3rd wire when pedal is pressed. Batteries are reading 12.7 volts each and combined reads @ 50.8 volts. Reading volts at the motor, fluctuating around 48v at A1/F1, same with A2/F2 when pedal is pressed. Everything seems to test fine and it should go, but it is dead in the water and was all of a sudden. What am I missing?

Re: 05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
With key switch On, Run/Tow switch in the Run position, Fwd/Rev rocker switch in the Fwd position (and also have the back jacked up off the ground).
Get your DVM and place the black (–) probe at the motor A2 (white wire) and connect the red (+) probe at the motor A1 (green wire) and slowly depress the Go Pedal. When the MCOR closes (clicks), the voltage reading should increase from ~5vdc gradually going up to to approximately ~45-48vdc (could be higher) with the accelerator pedal fully pressed. If this works correctly, we will check out your motor. |

With black on A2 and red on A1, there's no voltage on the DVM.

Re: 05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
That means there is no output from the controller. We need to make sure you have the throttle input to command the output. With the batteries connected, Tow/Run switch in Run; place the black (–) probe on packs main Negative post and the red (+) probe on the yellow wire at the 3-pin connector near the MCOR. (The reading should be approximately ~0.32vdc to ~0.5vdc with the pedal up). Slowly press the Go Pedal and the readings should increase until it reaches ~4.65vdc or more when the pedal is fully pressed. (Anything less than 4.60vdc and you are not reaching full throttle).

Re: 05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
It goes from .2 volts to 4.6 volts at full throttle

Re: 05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
Ok, now we have verified the throttle input and have verified no controller output, so lets verify voltage transfer at the solenoid and make sure we are there... (Cart jacked up, key On, rocker switch in Fwd, and pedal depressed)
At the solenoid small posts do the following: 1- Take your DVM and place the red lead on the solid blue wire and the black lead on the main pack negative. You should get 48vdc or pack voltage. (If not, we lost the Pos Input) 2- Next, take your DVM and place the black lead on the blue/white stripe wire and the red lead on the main pack positive. You should get 48vdc or pack voltage (If not, we lost the Neg input) If you are getting those then solenoid should be closing and you should hear it click. 3- Now with the solenoid closed in, place your DVM's probes across the 2 large posts and you should read 0vdc. Post your results. |

Re: 05 Precedent will not move, all of a sudden
With the pedal pressed, reading 50.8 volts with the solid blue/neg connection and 50.8 volts with the blue stripe/pos connection. With pedal pressed, solenoid clicks and reads 0 volts between 2 large bolts.
