Question Torque upgrade

Been out of this game for quite a few years. Reading here for the past several hours is bringing a lot of it back, lol. For carting this is the best forum hands down.

I bought a 02 ezgo series cart TXT 36v today. Seems to be in factory condition and all stock. I just put a new set of battery's in it and it seems to run real well. F&R switch was stuck in F position could not get in reverse. I sprayed it all down with WD40 and now it operates great.

Alright now the questions, what's a good list of upgrades in yalls opinion addressing performance. I am now making a set of cables from 2awg rather than the 6awg that's on it. I will be staying 36 volt it came with a really nice new charger that works great. Was thinking of sending motor to Plum Quick for just the bandit upgrade. But what's my options on this little controller? Don't want to much just nice little increase without effecting reliability. Has nice new wheels and tires but their factory higth. No lift, no back seat. Probably should do the solenoid and F&R switch too huh? Any suggestions guys, and thanks in advance.
Ryan

Stock Controller is pretty hopeless, and stock solenoid is a major liability.

What parts would you replace with, and who here is a good parts dealer? Thx

Controller says 275 amps on it, is that factory? If so what do they offer

Ryan, first off, welcome back.

seeing as how you have a SERIES cart.....you already stated you are upgradeing the cables (ALL OF THEM) TO 2GA. and plan on getting a Bandit upgrade to your motor.

oh wait, THE place to get your upgrade goodies, hands down CARTSUNLIMITED.NET

suggested upgrades, on scottyb's page above, on the speed controller page, Item #2 SR-48400 controller w/ 200 amp solenoid (460 peak amp output). F&R Page Item #3 EZ575 HD F&R.

Great room for 1 more battery under the seat to make a 42v system, this 400A solinoid is good for 48v so think it would work fine right? My question is charging, what have people done with this? Thx

Ryan T, welcome.
I can't speak on the single battery addition as I went from 36v to 48v on my 94 Medalist as I needed batteries and a controller, email or PM Scottyb.
He will also answer your question regarding the solenoid working 42v but I can tell you definitely switch out the F&R switch for a reversing connector. I went with Scottyb's SW182 and the wife loves it!

YES the 400A solenoid will work just fine, no issues at all. As far as charging....piece of cake. just get a 42v charger, you can get one of those from Scottyb as well at cartsunlimited.net.
