Precedent too slow

Just bought a 2011 Precedent but it will only go 11 to 12 mph. 6 inch lift with 23 inch tires. Read about checking speed sensor by pushing cart and no buzzer sounded. Next test will be with meter outlined in service manual. What else can I check if this is ok? Don't know speed setting.

Sounds like you have a bad speed sensor if there was no buzzer or resistance against pushing the cart.

There are lots of poor quality sensors in the Market, RevolutionGolfcars.com, a site sponsor sells the quality speed sensors.

Sounds like you might just be on Speed code 1 or 2.

Any way you can get it to a dealer to be scanned??

When you go down hill with the pedal to the metal, do you feel the motor slowing you down? I have been told that this is one way to find out if your sensors are working.

I myself am kind of new to all of this as I bought a 2008 a few weeks ago and am learning on how to speed it up without paying a lot of money. I have put on one of the speed magnets and it boosted me around 3-5 mph. I am in the process of putting a lift kit and big tires which will give me more speed. Right now on standard tires and suspension, with the added magnet, I am getting 17mph on straight level road. I think I was only getting the standard 12-13 mph before.

For now If I can get my car to get up to 20-22 mph, I would be happy.

Installed new speed sensor and now get 19mph. Happy with that. Also now beeps when pushed like it should. Thanks for the help!

That will last for about a week after you get up to 22 mph....then you'll want it to go 25...

With a 6 inch lift and 23 inch off road tires with a speed of 19 mph, I assume it doesn't have the speed code 4 installed. Not sure if it's worth $150. I read speed magnets don't work with Excel systems. Since my teenagers will be driving it to high school occasionally I don't want it too fast.
