Default Rusty Battery Holder

Is there an east fix for a rusted out battery platform on a G16 gasser? It is mostly still there but with some holes. I plan to try to clean it up a bit and stop the rust but those holes are buggin me.

I think I would give some thought to building a new one out of 1 or1 1/2" angle and replace what is in there. If you can weld that is. If not, you may need to find someone who can.

If your not wanting to get it back to the factory look, just clean the area up best you can, spray it with some rustoleum, and mount a plastic tray or something in that area to hold the battery. You can even cut out a piece of plywood to sit the battery on. Just bolt or screw it whats left of the old plate. Be sure to use some tiedowns or some type to strap to hold the battery in place.

I used a boat battery box on HAHA with a tube down below the frame as a drain.
Rustoleum makes a hammered paint that looks good on rough stuff, I use the caned paint not the spray, I can build it up a little thicker.

I have an old G9 that's had a battery sitting on a piece of plywood for years. Been through creeks, etc... continuously too.
