2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
So Heres the layout so far keep in mind I am very new to electrical side of things
1999 txt 36v - I have a 36v-12v reducer running into a fuse box where I planned to hook up all accessories. Issues so far: 1) LED Lightbar won't turn on running off the 12v reducer and fuse box but when I connect it directly to the 36v battery it kicks right on. its a Nilight LED bar and I've read where people have connected it into a 12v reducer and it works. I have checked voltage coming through the light and its at 13v but still won't come on. 2) Tried to connect radio to the fuse box to test it because I got tired of messing with the LED Bar and it takes the fuse box from outputting 12-12.5v down to 1v when I had it connected and the radio won't turn on either. The voltage reducer went right back to outputting 12v as soon as I disconnected the radio. I am completely lost as to why at this point. Can anyone explain this possibly?? Thanks in advance |

Re: 2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
What kind of voltage reducer?
How is it wired to the cart and how are the lightbar and radio wired to it? |

Are you sure you are hooked up to the main 36v output of your batteries and not 16v?

Re: 2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
I should clarify and ill correct it in the original post. I check the voltage on the fuse box and it gets kicked down from 12v to 1v for the battery issue adding a couple pictures for the reducer and wiring description. I have the voltage reducer running into the fuse box and was trying to run the light bar and radio from the fuse box.

Re: 2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
ok actually finally read through manual was a simple fix for the light bar I actually had the ignition wire, on the reducer, not connected to anything yet which de-energizes the reducer which I thought it didn't so tied that into the positive on the battery side and the light bar kicks on now.
Only issue I'm having now is getting the radio to come on even though were getting 13v out of the fusebox have the positive and illumination wire off of the radio running to the positive on the fuse box and the negative is set up correctly to Fusebox as well. The CD player is pulling in and spitting out cds just nothing else turns on with the player. Its JVC KW-R940BTS Bluetooth Car Stereo Receiver. Had it sitting around in a box figured I would throw it on the golf cart but is there certain stereos that we can't connect to golf carts? |

So you have the red, yellow and Orange hooked to 12v + and your black to the negative?

Re: 2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
I see on the reducer the input voltage states 24V and output 12V. Are you sure it's compatible with 36V input?

Re: 2 questions - LED Lightbar / Radio won't work
Your converter has dual 12v outputs:
Orange wire is switched 12v output (controlled by white 36v "trigger" wire). Connect your radio Yellow wire to converter Red wire. Connect your radio Red wire to converter Orange wire (fuse block). |
