Default TXT 48 Speed Controller question

I recently bought a EZGO TXT 48 cart (supposed to be a 2016). The cart was doing about 20mph and I ran into some issues. The cart suddenly slowed down and then was jumping when pressing throttle. I didn't realize batteries needed water and problem solved. Moving forward a couple weeks cart slowed down dramatically and I started searching and troubleshooting.

Replaced solenoid, no change.
Replaced throttle sensor, no change.
Replaced Speed Sensor magnet, bingo. Cart is working great.

Fast forward a couple weeks batteries were drained again. Filled up, charged, carts works and then stops. Troubleshoot again, determined solenoid somehow went bad. Put original back in and now cart is driving slow again. Thought maybe speed sensor was somehow bad again so replaced, no difference.

Bottom line is I think the Curtis controller somehow got reset to some other personality setting.

My question after all this rambling, is it possible after removing power for a certain period this got reset or changed? Secondly, can I change back without buying an expensive handheld? My searching is not giving me a clear answer, but manual seems like I may need the handheld.

Screenshot of the controller is attached. Any help is appreciated.

Any guides on making the cable? I think I found a USB cable on ebay but it's $50. Saying build implies there is some info out there. Any specifics would be appreciated.

edit: Is this what you're referring to?

edit2: Apparently I can't post links:

You might be delving into a realm you dont belong in (that's why this isnt already available to everyone), or it might be your perfect place. Dont expect a plethora of answers about the parameters, you wont get it (back to "a realm you dont belong in"). If you do not recognize where you are in the higher levels, you dont belong there. that's just how it is. Not every average user belongs messing around in those places. (Some settings dont belong messed with by the average user).

dd, that thread should be able to help you get setup for an OEM interface. If you already have freedom mode enabled you can change profile information. If not the best you will get is 14.5. If there is a dealer near you they might rent you a handheld to check what is going on.

Thank you. I clocked it at only 10mph now and everything is pointing to the mode getting changed.

Back to an earlier question, is that something to be expected where a setting can change without programming it? I'd imagine like any computer it probably has some type of battery to maintain minimal settings, I'm just wondering if when I disconnected all power if that somehow could reset it.

I was topped at 21mph before all this and I could feel the coast if I released the accelerator. Now I feel the motor itself is holding it back.

@cgtech that isn't very helpful.
