Default Battery cable preference

Is there any particular gauge cable that is more suitable than others. I have 1997 DS 48V. Have seen various sizes but don't know if any have advantages over others. Does cable size affect performance in anyway? Thanks

If you are going to maintain a "stock" cart, either a good quality 4 or 6 gauge cable would be sufficient . . . 6 gauge is what comes on cart and many people upgrade to 4 gauge when replacing cables on a stock cart . . . check ScottyB's website if you are interested in a quality 4 gauge cable set . . .

if your going to beef up your controller to a 500 to 700 amp then a good 2 gauge never hurts

Manufactures engineers recommend 2g for any controller 500 amps and up. Most all upgraded carts run 500 amp controllers. It's a good fit for all around use.
