modifications to get more flex?
So I got curious today and did a flex test on my 91 club car. It has a 6inch a arm lift on it, the 199 special from eBay, and i don't dig it. I'm only getting like an inch of flex from the front and the rear is OK but could be better. Has any body taken a leaf out or done shackle work to get more flex?

Re: modifications to get more flex?
Throw the HD springs away, cut the ends off your original front leaf spring, blow a hole in it with torches for the end link to go thru, add a 1" long spacer on the bolt between the leaf and lower arm, you'll get about 4-5" of flex then. Check my build thread for a better description and pics. I'm using the same lift kit.

Re: modifications to get more flex?
That's a good idea but I don't have a torch... Or a drill press so I will just take out a leaf

Re: modifications to get more flex?
the torch is just easier to get a hole through spring steel but a battery drill and a decent drill bit will do it

I also took just one leaf out, and am happy with the flex I get, but if I did more offroading I'd definitely mod the stock spring and use it. |

I took off a leaf in the rear. Its a lot softer and the rebound is way better. Going to do the front today probably. I use this cart offroad 90 percent of the time so I will mod the stock leaf

Re: modifications to get more flex?
I would like to get some more flex up front, I have the 7.5 Allsport A-arm lift
and got rid of the stock leafs... Will this work on the all sport lift? And if I was too remove a leaf will I be safe? Seems I've seen a couple post b4 about the Allsport leafs cracking or breaking... |

Re: modifications to get more flex?
I haven't tried on an Allsports lift, but the basic design appears the same so I don't see why not...
