Default 2002 TXT Speed Issue Help

I have been trying to get a little more speed out of my TXT.....I started out with the adjustment of the governor and got to 19mph but was hitting the rev limiter so I backed it back off to where I didn't hit it and ended up at 16mph ...I have read post here that people claim to be around 21-22 mph with just the governor adjustment ......am I missing something here ...also my cart is lifted with 22 x 14 x 9 tires and has the 292 robins engine.....any help is much appreciated

all you can do is run it up until you hit the limiter and slightly back it off

That's about it out of a 295 from what I understand.

Mine will do about 20-21 on flat ground, with just me in it.

Different story with two guys, golf bags and on grass.. No lift, golf course friendly street tires.

I just disconnected the governor all together. Not recommended, but I'm pretty much the only one driving it, so I'm not too worried about someone over-revving it.

Don't judge my mess in the shop.

If you are hitting the rev limiter easily at 16mph with the governor maxed out then i would suspect your clutches are not operating correctly or your belt is worn. with 22" tyres/tires you should be seeing somewhere around 19/20mph maybe a bit more.

Sorry to speak out of turn, but mike_dmt, can I ask where you got those rims? I've been looking for that style!

Sorry, looks like I can't PM you yet HammerPike.

I got them off of a very popular auction site. Hopefully that helps a little!

Have you replaced the belt if it is too narrow it will cause problems.

Yeah sorry, I'm new to the site. Long time lurker first time poster. I think I found an auction/sale page for the same model you've got on yours. They look like the ones on my truck which is probably why i like them!
