Tinkering
Received our I40L and have already started tinkering, so far replaced the annoying back-up horn with a BackupTunes device with the calypso sounds. Matches the blue. Upgraded the battery pack at purchase with 8 Trojan T-105s. Got a underseat deck tray (G29/Drive fits) for holding some small stuff, dash is on order with locking boxes. Having Rhox Road Hawk 22x10x12's installed and have 2" spacers for the axels, wanted that done before speeding up while waiting for Amazon to deliver A-Train's cable. Will install a momentary switch to a hidden garage remote once the dash arrives.
Wife was having trouble reaching the pedals so I took two pieces of 1" square bar stock and made a spacer for the front seat back for each side. Moved up the seat and can still lift the bottom for battery access. |

Re: Tinkering
Did the Backup Tunes device plug right into the original connector? Also, is the volume controllable.....or is it as loud as the original backup horn?

Re: Tinkering
Have not received the dash yet, local ICON dealer has it on order. It is the same as the Yamaha G29/Drive if you find one of them. Got the under seat insert from Buggies Unlimited for about $54.
To install the backup tunes I removed the backup horn and cut the wires just before the horn (saving the connector), soldered the connections from the backup tunes to the red and black (I received four wire so Black/Black-white to Black from horn connector, Red/Red-White to Red on connector). Then just plugged it in. It is not volume adjustable but is not as loud as the horn was, I think it is just right to get attention without being obnoxious. I did let BackupTunes know that the two wire they sell works with the ICON carts; if you order and receive two wire vs four. Pic with art with new Rhox Road Hawk tires and 2" spacers installed, much better ride. |

You hook it to your garage door opener and then your home's WiFi and you have a mobile app to open the door from your phone. I also hooked it up to Google Assistant so when I back out of the garage I just yell "Ok Google, close garage door" and it closes. |
