Throttle issues
Where do I start, key on, depress gas pedal, engine starts, cart starts rolling at a higher than normal RPM, if I let off the pedal, the cart keeps going.
The engine will not stop unless i swith the key off, or put in neutral. Any ideas where to begin? |

Re: Throttle issues
Sounds like a bad or maladjusted microswitch in the black box under the seat. They are located right next to the battery, remove the lid and you will see two of them stacked on top of each other. One is for start, the other for killing the engine. They activate via the throttle pedal and can be adjusted by backing off or increasing the thread length of the connecting rod. Slip off the ball joint connector and wind it back a couple of turns. To test; pull out and rotate the yellow cam behind the F / R lever 180 degrees. This will set the cart in maintenance mode and will allow the cart engine to start and stop without moving while you adjust things.
Hope that helps. Chris. |
