HPD Error
Installed Curtis 1205M 500 amp controller.
Cart ran great. Went to back out of driveway, when I went from reverse to forward I didn't realize I still had my foot on the pedal. The cart jumped forward and then died. I waited a few minutes and the cart would go,but when I stopped it would not go again. I can pump to pedal and it will go if I catch it just right, if not it won't go. When it goes it will keep going, I can release the pedal and press while cart is rolling and it acts like it should, but if I come to a stop, It won't go without waiting a minute or pumping pedal. I can either wait a minute or two or pump the pedal to make it go. Connected programmer to controller and it shows HPD error when I step on pedal and it won't go. Then when it does go, the fault clears. I have replaced diode and resistor, it made no difference. When I first press pedal .it will go ,but if I change directions, I have to wait or pump pedal to make it go. What have I done to my buggie? |

Re: HPD Error
The HPD (High Pedal Detect) fault is detected if the accelerator pedal is already depressed when the key
switch is turned to the ON position. This fault is also detected if the accelerator pedal is pressed when the selected direction is changed by pressing the Forward/Reverse switch. This fault, when not caused by the operator, can indicate that the pedal limit switch has failed closed. |

Re: HPD Error
Where is the pedal limit switch?
Is it one of the micros on F/R assembly? |

Re: HPD Error
Found pedal limit switch. It tested good.
Tested potentiometer. It is working as it should. Tested anti arc micro on F/R. It is working as it should. Solenoid clicks like it should. When it closes it shows pack voltage from big lug on controller side. When I run diagnostics I still get HPD, when it not running monitor shows throttle from 0 to 100 as I press the pedal. What else is there that could be causing to controller to think there is a throttle problem? |

Re: HPD Error
Made some progress.
I found if I disconnect small red wire that runs from solenoid to spade terminal on controlller and bypass solenoid and connect directly to hot, the cart will run like it should. Does that mean faulty solenoid? |
