Front end vibration
Getting a vibration in the front end when driving. Does not do it all the time but it feels like the front wheels are going to fall off when it does, it only does it for a second or two then it goes away and may not do it again for a couple of days. Everything on the front end is tight. What could be the cause. Looking for a starting point.

Re: Front end vibration
Sounds like a balance-issue.Jack up the front-end,spin the tires and look for a wobble in the tires(also buldges/out of round tire) and rims. Also check the front-end over good, could be a loose Wheel-Bearing,Tie-Rod End,or King-Pin.Hope this helps.

Re: Front end vibration
Ok I had time to jack up the front end. I do have some play in both front wheels. Left to right more so than top and bottom. And the left side has more play than the right. So would that be wheel bearings. Or would I be better off replacing both front hub assembly's.

Re: Front end vibration
If you have left to right play, look closely to see if its' the hubs,or the steering-linkage.If its' the hubs, you can replace the bearings, races, and seals.Take the hub-cap off, remove the cotter-pin and lightly tighten the nut(until it just feels snug)then recheck the hub for looseness. If all is good, take the hubs off, clean and repack the bearings(providing they aren't trashed or rusted). If you tap the inner-bearing out from the front-side,it will drive the seal out without damage, then you can clean it and reinstall it if it looks ok.Hope this helps.

What's the easiest way to remove the cap from the hub.

Re: Front end vibration
Checked the front end everything is tight. My son was on the cart yesterday and he said that every time he hit a bump the shaking would start. When it does it feels like the front wheels are coming off .

Re: Front end vibration
I would say a wheel is out of balance, possibly something inside the tire?On a Street-Vehichle,a Vibration that starts with certain bumps points to a front-tire/wheel that is damaged or way out of balance.
