Re: Who has started new Food Plots
I got about a 2 acre plot of corn planted this week. I disced and sprayed about 2-3 weeks ago. This week I disced, spread lime, spread fetilizer, and disced again. I was able to borrow a friends 2 row planter so that was the easiest part. I was surprised how far a bag of seed corn would go. I planted the two acres and had some left over.
Fertilizer is sky high. It was $12.95 a bag for 13-13-13. Cost me almost $200.00 in fertilizer and $35.00 in lime. I still have to apply some more nitrogen in 3-4 weeks. Hope to get my peanuts and sunflower in ground at that time. I took some pics of camp, food plots, and stands but left camera behind. I'll post em up later. Good Hunting, Mike |

To keep the coons from climbing the feeder legs try screwing strips of carpet tack strip to them. Then you just have bloody paw prints everywhere. |

How much lime did you have to put out Mike ? I have heard fert. is sky high now, just havent wanted to see how high LOL. I know its probably needed , but I might just go with putting out lime the most of and hold back on fertilizer . For one thing Im considering is the amount of rain We all Hope to get this year. Kinda caught between a rock and hard spot, a dang if you do and dang if you don't |

Re: Who has started new Food Plots
I have not had to use them on mine but other guys on the lease use them. They eat from ground now, not hanging upside down spinning feed to their buddies.
