As soon as I get the chassis cleaned, I can begin reassembly, and post up some more pictures.

How is that new Precedent working out?

It's great!! And a real head turner. Getting a little "shudder" but Dave is going to help me out with that.

Hello all,
I received my Carts unlimited Solid State upgrade kit, and although the install is a couple weeks away, I was thinking about wiring colors.

This is a series cart upgrade so no 16 pin connector, and no wire harness etc.

Yep, this is probably a really stupid question, but what color wire might be considered "standard" for the low amp runs like:

F & R Toggle switch to Reversing Contactor
Throttle micro-switch to Solenoid and Solenoid to controller.

I know they are mostly all positive or negative, and thus could be red and black, but what is standard practice to make later diagnostics easier?

Thank you,
Aflyer

Nothing stupid about that question. Are there standard colors? Whatever you do sketch it out and take photos. Keep the pics coming!

I guess there are no standard or preferred colors for the secondary wiring.

Yep. Do what you want and choose your colors. That's what I would do.

Generally, I prefer to use red for the (+) and black or green for the (-)
You see this in my diagrams. This is a simple system 2 or 3 colors will do.

Kashmir,
You are correct, here are a couple of the latest examples are:

$140 to sandblast and powder coat the wheels
$ 80 to sandblast and powder coat the front end plates and brackets.
$ 65 to machine the original Brake back plates to fit the new axle housings.

It could be worse, I could be working on a Corvette.

Scotty,
I agree, but being anal retentive, and OCD, I have to to it, LOL

As an example I we have two positive wires from the F & R switch, one for forward and one for reverse. They van both be red, but if it was common practice to have a different color for each, I can do that too.
