Default accelerator shorting out sometimes

Hey, trying to figure out what’s wrong with my friends cart. 90% of the time it works fine, but sometime when you push the accelerator nothing happens. Then to get it back going you have to push the accelerator 10-20 times and it will finally start working again. Can anyone help me with where to start?

36v PDS
The ITS throttle system is one of the best throttle signal devices ever used in a golf cart. They send erratic signals if wet. The 4 pin in harness connector BETWEEN the pedal box and the controller is a trouble spot, lots of people replace the plug with but connectors.

sounds like it could also be the micro in the pedal box going bad/wet.

Yep - first thing to do is open the pedal box for inspection and switch testing.
