2004 Club Car DS, speed question
Hello, I purchased a 2004 Club Car DS (SN: AQ0406-367400) this last weekend for my daughters. I have searched and read many articles on this forum and watched the DIY Golfcart video's online. My answer has probably already been put in front of me, but I may have missed it not being familiar with terms.
Anyway, the car has 8 month old Energizer batteries. The cart is so slow, the guy mentioned I could have it "flashed" at a local dealer. But I was wondering if TahoeDawgZ71's post "DS IQ or Precedent Speed Sensor Test" was how I know if its already had that done? The car functions flawlessly in forward and reverse, just would like a little more speed to get my kids excited. Thanks, Brian |

Re: 2004 Club Car DS, speed question
When the cart is in neutral and you shove it, does it beep and try to slow itself? If so, it's probably just set on a low speed code and a dealer can turn it all the way up to 19 mph for a charge, or you could purchase a speed magnet that will allow it to go as fast as the other components on the cart, namely the controller and motor, will allow, which is cheaper.
If it DOESNT beep and try to slow itself then you have a bad speed sensor, and a speed magnet and new sensor would do you a world of good. Check out www.revolutiongolfcars.com for magnets and sensors, David carries the high quality stuff. |

One other question, a local guy is swelling new Sahara Classic 20x10x10 tires with nice black and chrome rims for $500. Would these fit a stock 04 club car DS without a lift?

They won't fit. They're too tall and wide. The width is a bigger problem than the height.

I'm sorry, I meant to make a separate thread asking that, but thank you TahoeDawgZ71.
93YellowClubCar, my cart didn't beep and try and stop itself when rolling downhill in neutral. Now my only question is, is the dealership the safer way? I thought I read in some of the threads that magnets can make some stuff overwork. Thanks guys, you have helped me end my brain lock... For now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 2004 Club Car DS, speed question
Never really heard of a speed magnet making one have problems, lots of guys really like them.
Like I mentioned, check out Revolution Golf Cars/David/TahoeDawgZ71 (all the same great guy!) for a speed magnet and a new sensor. From your description of enough speed to interest the kids, that's a route you'll be happy with. That will get you started at least, and pretty cheaply, and you can go from there if your need for speed grows. |
