HD spring
I traded my BU HD spring for a 96 stock spring and it wont even push my belt back out of the clutch... So, I need to decide to either go with a new CCP spring or my BU spring... I want the best out of the 2. I took the BU one off because when I installed my new motor, it made the cart have a low gear and a really low gear. And sometimes it wouldn't come up from the lowest gear. I was afraid i would over rev it before it shifted up or when it shifted down goin down hills.... What should I do?? Thanks - Austin

Re: HD spring
my question is how slow were you with the Heavy Duty spring? 20mph, 15mph tops? I dont care if I hit 30mph, I am more concerned with pulling power.
the stock spring on my cart is very weak. granted I havent preloaded it. Tom at CPP suggested using the stock rear spring when I last talked to him. I am thinking of calling Don at Plowman as he has 5 different springs in stock for the rear. The other thought is to order a bunch of secondary springs from Dennis Kirk for snowmobiles and just experiment. page 220 in the snowmobile catalog. springs are $16.69 each white low 63lb #38-0414 to to maroon 102lbs #38-1125 However call Don who has done this before sounds like the best method |

Re: HD spring
I went back to the stock spring and preloaded it to "B2". I have lots of low
end torque and can run 40 mph. Before you buy any spring, load your stock one and try it. Try some different setting. Just my opinion. |
