I know I saw the same post and I believe it was posted by Gornoman. I cant find it right now I have to leave for a bit. PM gornoman and he may magically appear. LOL! If not I will find it when I get back. Either way its a simple upgrade. Probly the best bang for the buck.

i donno if this really will make since or not and correct me if i'm wrong please

ok i'm going to use 2 more 6 volt batterys and just add them in the bag area on the back of the cart.... more lead more runtime right?

so i'm going to the welding store and getting a cupple plugs.... one plug i'm going to mount right in the back of the cart so it stays there all the time..... with one side being pos and the other side being neg. then on the back side by the new batterys i'm going to use the other end of the plug and wire in the batterys..... and then i'm going to get another plug exactly like it but i'm going to make a loop..... so when it comes time for charging or if the kids wanna drive it i can still have my 36 volt pack... but if dads playin i can unplug the loop and plug in the back 2 batterys to make my 48 volts...

i attached a pic..... might make since ... might not....

ther is a way to do it without the plug I found the post verry simple and you dont have to disconect the two new bats to charge my next step is figuering out how to wire the soilenoid so only 36 v run through the small wires

I still havent found it. I'm gonna try and explain.

Run the extra 2 batteries in series but leave the stock charger wires alone, just leave them like factory. Then all you do is hook the 12 volt charger to the extra 12 volts worth of batteries. You dont have to unhook anything.

I thoght I had to move my + cable comig from the plug to the third bat in the pack but the more I think about it it wont matter because the neg on the two new ones complete the circuit now i just need to figure out how to only get 36v to the small wires on the soilenoid so I wont have to get a hew one.

I do have to move my cable to third bat so both 36v pack and 12v pack are isolated

I lifted this from BU. If that is a problem just holler, but here's the goods:

As promised, here is the full story:

The cart was a 36v Fleet style with an Alltrax AXE 400amp Programmable controler, as well as 4g Welding Cables. All else on the cart was stock electricly, except for extra 12v goodies. The Alltrax controller was allready rated for 48v.

I added 2-6v batteries wired in series for a total of 48vdc, one under the drivers side, and one in the passenger's bagwell:

The white wire from the cart charge receptacle was moved from it's original position at the Main Pack Positive upstream 2 batteries to it's new position on battery 3 positive terminal. Now the Powerwise charger only "sees" 36vdc and can still be used as normal. The additional charger is hooked up across batteries 1 and 2 in the pack, and as such only "sees" 12vdc. Both chargers are running simultaneously, no wires have been disconnected.

All of the control wiring still only "sees" 36v (this reading is across the small posts of the stock solenoid, key on, cart in gear, light pressure on the go pedal to activte solenoid circuit):

And the main pack now totals 48vdc (and then some!):

This pack voltage was after running the cart Friday night and all day Saturday, just as I was preparing to leave Sunday. I don't think range will be an issue. I saw 53.9vdc last weekend after a full charge cycle.

This is a VERY EASY upgrade if you have the proper controller already.
