Default Replacing original motor with a GE motor???

I was given a GE 5hp motor and wanted to replace my 3.5 hp CC motor.
Original motor:

GE Motor:

Unfortunately, the CC motor has this plug on the top of it:

that plug fits into this receptacle:

the GE Motor has no plug like that:

Do any of you know the purpose of that plug and is it bypassable, or is there a converter or anything I could use? Is this GE Motor (from a 99 CC)even compatible with my 03 CC?

I removed the old motor, as you can see. I hooked all the wiring up to the new motor (just the wiring, didnt actually install the motor) just to see if the shaft would spin when I hit the pedal, but it didnt, but when I re-wired the original motor back to it, it ALSO didnt spin. I can hear something clicking when the pedal is pressed...If I blew something, what would most likely be the thing that would have blown? OBC, or Controller...or possibly a Solenoid? Or do I actually have to completely install the motor for the shaft to spin?
