That sounds like load (demand). The more (harder) it works, the more heat is generated. It buzzes because it is converting 120v AC to 48v DC and the more amps it pulls the hotter will get.

As noted, be sure sll the contacts and connections are tight and then if it is operating correctly, a rebuild kit would probably not do much for you.
