Default Oh yeah, it's another "Royal Ride!" Voltage question

First let me say, nice website with a great knowledge base. I look forward to contributing.

I picked up an incredibly ridiculous cart a few days ago and was doing my research about the serial number. I'm a little confused because my serial number is B89xxxxxxxx

According to the sticky, it was just a frame with electrics that Elmco turned into the greatest golf cart of all time the part I'm confused about is that it is listed as 48v. I currently have 6 6v batteries and it goes 16-17mph. I'm really not interested in more speed now, but I'm sure that will change. Any possibility it was setup for 48v?

The cart is in great shape except for a few small paint chips and blemishes. It came with a refrigerator, air conditioning, stereo and seemingly every other option you could imagine. I suspect somebody in 1989 said I want the best golf cart on the course and money is no option. You have to have a sense of humor to enjoy it
