My advise would be to buy a new charger or at least put some kind of timer on the one you got. Second would be to check the water levels in your batteries. You may have overcharged it out. What's up with the top left battery. One post doesn't appear to be connected to anything.
Also if it ran OK before I would think the wiring is ok. Don't go randomly changing wires.
