Loose or corroded connections, even slight, will cause overheating of the cables.
Let everything cool down, scrape or wire brush all terminals and connectors. Make sure they are shiny and bright. Then reinstall the cable.
Next time you drive it, stop after a few minutes and check the temperature of that cable as compared to all of the others.
If it continues to get hot, replace that cable. Hopefully all is good inside the overheated battery post.
If all is well, coat the terminals with vaseline to prevent additional corrosion issues.
