Default Re: 2009 electric club car surging in forward mode

A 2009 Club Car Precedent may not have an MCOR on it. 2009 was an experimental year where they used a unit they called the TPS. There is no wiper arm inside it like the MCOR has. It's nothing but a magnetic hall effect sensor and it was a very dangerous piece of equipment. They were supposed to have all been changed out by Club Car dealers under warranty. Because the TPS doesn't have a safety limit switch, it could surge at any time and result in a runaway cart. I suggest that you pull the pedal assembly out of the cart and inspect what is actually installed on your cart now. If it's been converted to an MCOR2 in the past, you can get away with installing only an MCOR4 conversion kit, part number AM293001. If it has a TPS on it, we need to know so we can point you in the right direction. You'll need your serial number handy as well for compatibility reasons. It's very important to do this as soon as you can. If you have a TPS, and it's surging already, it's just gonna get worse and may become dangerous. Please be sure to turn your key switch OFF and put your FNR selector in Neutral every time you get off the cart. This will prevent a runaway cart.
