I don't have this wire and it doesn't appear like it was ever there - or at least not during my ownership. What does this wire do and is it needed?
I did notice that the wiper was not making it to the last plate. The copper on the wiper looks slightly deformed and I'm not 100% sure it's making contact anymore. I'm kind of wondering if maybe it melted in this process. Sure I get voltage at the contacts or at the wiper?
It has a single solenoid just like this diagram.
