That is correct, modern automatic chargers will shut off when the batteries reach full charge. The buzzing sound you hear is coming from the the tranformer inside the charger and tells you it is working. No noise = not charging. New batteries should be recharged fequently or after 1/2 normal use for the first 10 cycles or so. This is an important step to properly 'breaking in' a new set. Protect your investment..
