Default Re: getting ready to start 36v to 48v conv????

I just upgraded a 91 club car to 48v. Here's what I did. I bought an alltrax 4845 off of ebay for $210, a mjz 200 solenoid from evdrives ($60), new 4ga wires ($30), two blem 6v batteries from interstate battery ($100), two battery boxes from batteries plus ($20), and traded in my 36v charger for a 48v charger ($150). That's all I needed. My vglide and f/r switch works fine with this setup. I ran the cart for two hours solid last weekend up and down hills at the Tennessee v. Auburn game with no problems whatsoever. The 8 6v batteries give great runtime and the cart makes it up hills with 4 people and a cooler no problem. After talking with many people about the conversion, I was told that, because my cart was a solid state cart to begin with - no resistors - my f/r switch and vglide could handle the 48v conversion. Until I have a problem, that's what I'm doing.

Oh, and I've got a 6" lift and 23" tires!
