I noticed some sputter that went away after warming up, I checked my valve adjustment again but cold this time (originally set hot), the adjustment loosened up from cold to hot so I went with .005mm cold (intake had tightened up after cooling down). Cart runs nice and quiet as it should and no more sputter issues, I don't have any data on the correct lash adjustment.

Japanese motorcycles with OHC are assumed to check lash warm, aircooled VW's use aluminum pushrods that grow in length evenly with engine temp. These Kawasaki pushrod motors loosen up as they warm up.... Just gotta get a feel for it
